MILjazz 2025: Lappeenranta

The Finnish Defence Forces’ energetic MILjazz tour arrives this year on 9 June in Lappeenranta’s Satamatori and brings summer with it again! The no-cost, feel-good outdoor event will offer its listeners upbeat music and an authentic festival atmosphere.

Concert schedule:

19:00 The Dragoon Band & Varre Vartiainen
20:00 The Air Force Big Band & Iina Salin
21:00 The Conscript Band’s Showband

Before the music performances, the audience will have the opportunity to visit the Defence Forces exhibition area, which will feature military vehicles, a simulator and display stands for the Finnish Border Guard, the Police and the Rescue Department. Reservists’ Associations and traditional military horses will also be there. The program will end with an overflight at 18:00.

The equipment exhibition and demonstration areas will be open from 16:00. The Soldiers’ Home will also serve until 19:00.

The concert part starts at 18:00 and continues until about 21:45. In Lappeenranta, the first performer will be Die Big Band der Bundeswehr of the German Armed Forces, playing captivating instrumental jazz music. Next up will be the Dragoon Band and guitarist Varre Vartiainen, whose music will take you on a diverse journey into the world of entertaining jazz and rock. In all MILjazz cities, the Air Force Big Band will take to the stage to entertain the audience with the brilliant Iina Salin as soloist. The evening will be crowned by the Conscript Band’s Showband, whose energetic performances captivate audiences year after year.
