The Lapland Military Band’s third concert at Korundi House of Culture this year gets its inspiration from Finnish nature. The first half of the concert includes a piece dedicated to the Saimaa ringed seal,  Järven tarinoita ‘Tales of the Lake’ , as well as Alla Lapin taivaan, ‘Under the Lapland skies’, orchestrated for this concert by our conductor.  In the second half, the audience is treated to an immersive audiovisual experience with a live presentation of the Lapland Military Band’s 50th Anniversary piece from 2019 , ‘Lapland Imagery’ composed by Ilari Hylkilä, and the accompanying  music video composed by Alexander Kuznetsov and written by the band’s script team. The video has been produced by Antti Näpänkangas and Sanna Nordström. The soloist in this piece is Inga-Máret Gaup-Juuso. The concert is concluded by Anssi Tikanmäki’s  beloved Maisemakuvia Suomesta (‘Landscapes of Finland’) Magnificent nature photographs  projected onto the screen while the music is playing add to the visual extravaganza . The photographs  chosen to enhance the immersive experience are taken by members of the Northern Finland’s Nature Photographers Association. This is as close to nature as you can get in a concert hall – welcome!
