MILjazz 2026: The Finnish Defence Forces’ MILjazz Tour Arrives in Vantaa to Fill Korso’s Ankkapuisto with Summer Energy!

This open and free outdoor event offers interesting sights, a genuine festival atmosphere, and, of course, top-tier music in a beautiful park setting.

The event kicks off at 4:00 PM with an equipment display. You can explore a Pasi armored personnel carrier from the Guard Jaeger Regiment and meet several of our partners, including representatives from MPK, local reservist districts, the Women’s Preparedness Union, National Defence Women, and the Asola Volunteer Fire Department. The Soldiers’ Home canteen will be serving treats throughout the event.

Concert Schedule

• 18.00–18.50: The Guards Band’s Big Band with soloist Laura Ruusumaa
• 19.10–19.55: The Air Force Big Band with soloist Joonatan Rautio
• 20.15–21.30: The Finnish Defence Forces Conscript Band’s Showband

The evening’s music is provided by the country’s oldest professional military band, the Guards Band, the swinging Air Force Big Band, and the evening’s electric climax, the Conscript Band’s Showband.

The Guards Band and Laura Ruusumaa will perform new big band arrangements of evergreen classics by Tapio Rautavaara.

The Air Force Big Band (conducted by Ville Paakkunainen) will take the audience into the hot rhythms of the Caribbean. The theme is the music of legendary jazz pianist Michel Camilo. Expect energetic Latin American beats, spiced up by soloist Joonatan Rautio, one of Finland’s most respected jazz saxophonists.

This musical ensemble is guaranteed to get the pulse of the park rising!

Arrival and Location

• Venue: Ankkapuisto, Korso (Urpiaisentie 32, 01450 Vantaa)
• Public Transport: We recommend arriving by public transport. Korso railway station is only a 500-meter walk from the park. The Kalmuuri bus stops are also located right near the event.
• Parking: For those arriving by car, the nearest parking spaces can be found in the Korso town center area.
