MILjazz 2026: The Finnish Defence Forces’ MILjazz Tour Arrives at Hämeenlinna Market Square!

This open and free outdoor event offers a summer evening filled with high-quality music and a genuine festival atmosphere right in the heart of the city.

A relaxed atmosphere will prevail at the Market Square throughout the day, with the Soldiers’ Home canteen truck serving treats to visitors during the entire event. Come and enjoy classic donuts and refreshments alongside the music!

Konsertprogram:

• 18.00–18.50: The Air Force Big Band & Joonatan Rautio

• 19.10–19.55: The Finnish Defence Forces Conscript Band’s Showband

• 20.15–21.30: The Guards Band & Laura Ruusumaa

The evening’s musical offerings are provided by the country’s oldest professional military band, the Guards Band, the swinging Air Force Big Band, and the evening’s electric climax, the Conscript Band’s Showband.

The Air Force Big Band (conducted by Ville Paakkunainen) will take the audience into the hot rhythms of the Caribbean. The summer tour theme is the music of legendary jazz pianist Michel Camilo. Expect energetic Latin American beats, spiced up by soloist Joonatan Rautio, one of Finland’s most respected jazz saxophonists.

An energetic performance awaits, offering a great experience for every listener!

• Arrival: The Market Square is located right in the city center, so it is easiest to arrive on foot or by public transport.
• Parking: Please note that parking in the immediate vicinity of the concert can be challenging, so we recommend using light traffic or city center parking garages.
