Church concert – Tampere

Tampere, Tampereen tuomiokirkko

At the church concert of the Finnish Defence Forces Conscript Band, the wind blows from the north. The concert band performs Northern Scenes from the latest compositional repertoire of the band’s Chief Conductor Sauli Saarinen, Juha Pisto’s beautiful Notturno, and Timo Forsström’s Sons of the Midnight Sun, a work that has become a cornerstone of Finnish wind music. The concert focuses primarily on Finnish music, but the program also includes concert marches and pieces from Switzerland, among other countries.

Come to the concert to enjoy wind music performed with enthusiasm and skill by the Conscript Band.

The concert band is conducted by Soila Takanen.
