MILjazz 2025: Oulu

The Finnish Defence Forces’ energetic MILjazz tour arrives this year on 4 August in Oulu Market Square, bringing light to the end of the summer! The no-cost, feel-good outdoor event will offer its listeners upbeat music and an authentic festival atmosphere.

Concert schedule:

18:00 NATO Jazz Orchestra
19:00 The Air Force Big Band & Iina Salin
20:10 The Lapland Military Band’s Big Band

Before the music performances, the audience will have the opportunity to visit the Defence Forces exhibition area, where equipment and defence organizations will be on display. The equipment exhibition and demonstration areas will be open from 15:00. The Soldiers’ Home will be serving throughout the event.

The concert part starts at 18:00 and continues until about 21:30. In Oulu the stage will be first over by the NATO Jazz Orchestra, a group of international musicians who will bring the stage to life with a diverse mix of music. In all MILjazz cities, the Air Force Big Band will take to the stage to entertain the audience with the brilliant Iina Salin as soloist. The evening will be crowned by the Lapland Military Band’s Big Band, which will perform Earth, Wind & Fire classics under conductor Tapio Maunuvaara. The soloists will be Oulu rhythm music students, who will bring spark and energy to the performance.

Arrival: The best way to get to the centre of Oulu is by public transport, car or by foot/bike. There are good parking possibilities under the market square in Kivisydän, as well as around it. Walking distance from the bus station is 1,3 km and from the train station 1,1 km.
